The J. Keilwerth MKX series represents the next step in the evolution of instruments from this historic brand. By combining features of the legendary SX90R with traits typical of older saxophones, the MKX series offers musicians the best of both worlds: the classic tone of vintage instruments with the advantages of modern design.

The name MKX pays tribute to those who contributed to or inspired the development of this new series. The letters "MK" stand for Markneukirchen, a historic town in the same region of eastern Germany where Julius Keilwerth began operations in 1925. Markneukirchen boasts a long history and tradition in instrument making. Today, the factory is still located there, along with the family homes of skilled employees whose craftsmanship is rooted in the traditions of their ancestors—an essential factor in the excellent quality of these instruments.

To honor the legendary J. Keilwerth SX90R, the letter "X" was added to the name of the new model, reminding us of the influence and inspiration drawn from those who paved the way for Keilwerth's success. The MKX and SX90R series share certain features and can be compared to cousins who have common ancestors but distinct characters and personalities, which translates into the unique timbre of their voice.

The saxophone has an amazing sound, feels very comfortable under the fingers, with excellent intonation, balanced and powerful tone. Technically, the instrument is in PERFECT condition; about two years ago it underwent a complete overhaul with very durable black kangaroo pads installed. It has now been checked and adjusted in the service, and visually it is also in PERFECT condition.
